Last night some of the team from We Are Veterans descended on the Palace of Westminster after an invite from the Rt Hon Owen Paterson MP, to promote We Are Veterans and attend the launch of the Veterans Orthopaedic Centre‘s fundraising appeal.
Three of the team were unable to make it, however, Elaine Forman, Katy Newby & Amanda Cundall attended and had an incredible evening. The team were honoured to be invited to the launch where they had the opportunity to meet
with some very influential people and discuss We Are Veterans as well as learning more about the amazing work of Lt Col Carl Meyer and his team at the VOC.
The VOC are aiming to raise a mere 1.5 million pounds to expand the centre and We Are Veterans will be assisting by inviting teams of HM Forces veterans, serving members, cadets and their family to register and raise money by taking part in our 2019 Challenge as ‘Together We Achieve More’.
One of the highlights of our night at The Palace of Westminster, asides from meeting Ian Duncan Smith, Lt Col Carl Meyer and Tobias Ellwood, was meeting this fine gentleman. Patrick Courtown, the 9th Earl of Courtown, or more commonly known as the Deputy Chief Whip in the House of Lords. He was an absolute gentleman and was very gracious in agreeing to a selfie with us.
